It's really a collection of photos set to music, but it does a beautiful job of capturing Aux Champs Elysee area of Paris. Some great night shots, too.

Just started to play with Library thing again. We've certainly come a long way from keeping a little file box of titles and reviews...

Delicious was fun!

I don't "play" much on the web, but I really liked delicious, from recipes to music videos. Tags were so helpful.. I'm going to use this alot.

I checked out the library's Facebook and Myspace pages

I even played 'Yoville' on the Teen myspace page. Fun

Wouldn't it be fun to 'write in the Community Library for "The Best of the AntiHamptons" poll? After the restaurants, shops, diners, hair salons, etc, scroll down and there are 3 slots to write in your favorite businesses. With the whole library staff voting, we could be recognised as a 'best business'.

I'm planning our "Paint the Town READ" Family Portrait Days

We're need your help to Paint the Town READ! Bring your family and friends to the Community Library for a FREE portrait. We'll take an 8 X 10 portrait of you and your group that's suitable for framing. Bring your favorite book if you like, or just pose naturally. We'll even create a signature READ poster of you, and post it on the Paint the Town READ website (http://paintthetownread.communitylibrary.org) if you would like us to. No appointment is necessary. Just walk in and pose for your free portrait on Saturday, April 4th and Tuesday, April 7th from 10:00 A.M. - 5:00 P.M. Parents must sign permission slips if they want their child's photo to be be posted on our website.

Perspective

In all of the years that I have been using computers, through all of the down time, crashes, error messages, and upgrades to my operating systems, I have never hesitated to make a humble plea for help when I needed it. I have learned to cherish the insight and expertise of numerous computer techs who often solved my problems and got me up and running quickly. I have always been grateful to them, bordering on reverent, and they are usually flattered and pleased to help. But once upon a time I came across a rather arrogant geeky type (no one you know!) who analyzed my dire situation and, rather than click away at the solution, told me that the problem was 'between the keyboard and the chair.' In other words, I was the problem. I was doing something wrong to cause my problem. I never forgot that, and I always feel a little vulnerable when I try something new on the computer. But now I see that even though there may be some trial and error, the most important feature of web 2.0 is between the keyboard and the chair---it's us. Once we master the basic stuff, we can really make these new technologies work for us in amazing, useful ways. The technology is easier and more intuitive than ever. We don't have to think so much how we make something happen. We can concentrate on what we want to get done. Maybe not everything we learn will be relevent to our lives, but some of it will stick and will change the way we do things, like sharing photos, keeping in touch with family and getting information. So, I am going to play around, share my experiences, talk about this stuff at the dinner table, and remember that it all transpires between the keyboard and the chair.
